June 3rd, 2006
(a date I had better remember)

I apologize for being a bit tardy in posting this month's chronicling of our experiences in Bermuda, but you see, we've been a bit busy. Seemingly a surprise to many, Lori and I got married on Saturday, June 3rd, on our back deck. A very small affair with a minister as per Bermudian law, we committed ourselves to each other in front of a few friends and Lori's parents. We purposely kept the event quiet so that other family members wouldn't feel obliged to travel to Bermuda for the ceremony.

So this posting will be all about seeing us performing our nuptials! Lots of pictures and not too much rhetoric from me. Hopefully those that could not be here will receive some enjoyment from viewing the event through this. I'll remind everyone that most of the pictures will enlarge in a new page if you click on them.

As you can see, it was a very small crowd that witnessed our joining; some good friends we've made since arriving in Bermuda, some old friends that came with us to Bermuda and Lori's Mom and Dad and son Chase who were visiting at the time. We were lucky to have the sky's clear as the day before poured rain and we thought we would be doing this inside.

The gentleman in the blue Bermuda shorts is the Reverend Alan Garrity of the Presbyterian Church. If you ever want to get married in Bermuda we highly recommend him!

"You may kiss the bride" and do it again several times for the photographers.

The crowd to the right is, from left to right, Lori's dad Robin, the happy groom and his bride, Lori's son Chase and Lori's mom Elinor. We decided to have the ceremony while Lori's parents were visiting.

The Lilies to the left grow naturally here and can be found blooming at this time of the year. We will be planting several of these in our back yard.

On your left is a design we made for an invite we never sent. We changed the wording and used the image on a few thank you cards. If you look close you can see us in the wine which is apt, as Lori and I are often "in the wine". Click on it to get a full image.

To the right is the happy bride. Mouse over the picture and see how happy she can get! Actually Lori is laughing at the fact that we forgot the bouquet in the fridge until "after" the ceremony.

A serious moment.
The all important "signing" of the documents.

Introducing Mrs. Ross Goodwin.

That done and it's "Congratulations" you are married.
Let the party begin!
The lovely lady with Lori is Ronda, one of our new friends here in Bermuda who also happens to be our landlady.

So that is it for this month. Lots more to write about but I'll save it for later. I've put a counter on the "Life is a Beach" web site and see that there are quite a few viewers. Thanks for surfing by.
